I’m working on illustrations for the third book in the Sesame Seade mysteries this week. It’s called Scam On The Cam and is written by the highly talented Clementine Beauvais.
This is a section of a very elaborate crowd scene I’ve been working on. As you may imagine, it had has taken a few sittings to finish.
Sesame has her very own website here if you want to take a look!
It was exciting to be asked to illustrate Michaela Strachan’s Really Wild Adventures last year… and funny animal poetry is always a big tick for me!
The book published last year in hardback and earlier this year in paperback. This week I’m off to Tunbridge Wells to see Michaela’s new show based on the book! It’ll be interesting to see how it all looks on stage…
Here’s a snapshot of some of the work that has been on my drawing board the last few months.

The Sesame Seade Mysteries by Clementine Beauvais. Published by Hodder Childrens’ (2nd May, 2013)
Very exciting to be asked to illustrate this wonderfully witty series about a Super Sleuth. The first book in the series publishes on May 2nd, 2013. We will celebrating with a launch at Heffers in Cambridge. You can Pre-order a Sesame here or purchase from your finest indie bookshop on the day, should the mood take you!
Two Bad Grans By Geraldine Durrant Published by Piccadilly Press. (Oct 2013)
It was my pleasure to work on this picture book earlier this year. As the title states it’s about some very badly behaved old ladies, who have to buck up their ideas once they suddenly become Grannies!
Two Bad Grans publishes in October this year.
Lettering for covers: Dead Or Alive and My Best Friend and Other Enemies (Egmont/Nosy Crow)
I am asked more and more these days, to supply hand drawn/ illustrated type for cover work, to which my answer is always a massive, big fat “Yes”.
Vulgar The Viking series by Odin Redbeard. Published by Nosy Crow
This has been a real joy to work on. The gags are excellent and five books down, Vulgar text is still wonderfully fresh. We are all rather bereft at the moment, as Vulgar’s adventures come to a halt after book 6. What a fantastic project.

Thanks for reading!
Great excitement here when I received an advanced copy of my new pop up book Monster House last week.
I am wearing one huge big grin over this book, what a project! Thank you team S&S and Maggie Bateson.
Here’s a couple of photos- the book publishes on the 25th October and you can pre-order a Monster here if you do so wish!
Thought it would be nice to show some sketches that never normally see the light of day- (and you can see why!)
These are my scruffy thumbnails for the latest book in the Vulgar the Viking series for Nosy Crow.
Only readable by me and soon to be translated to ink and wash.
Thumbs are kind of an illustrators’ shorthand.
